Alzheimer’s Association meets with Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters of California

From left to right: Gerry Sampson, Alzheimer's Association board member; Bonnie Duffy, Alzheimer’s Association director of federal policy; Sikizi Allen, supervisor, California’s City of Inglewood Senior Center; U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif.; Debra L. Cherry, Alzheimer’s Association executive director, Los Angeles; and Jennifer Zeitzer, Alzheimer’s Association associate director of federal policy.

The Alzheimer's Association is grateful to Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., and her collegues in Congress, Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., Rep. Adam Schiff D-Calif. and Rep. Jim Ramstad, R-Minn., for sponsoring a bill amendement that increased funding for the Alzheimer's Association Safe Return® program from $840,000 to $1 million.

Safe Return is a vital safety program for families living with Alzheimer's disease. It helps reunite loved ones with a person with dementia who has wandered.
